The Guts, New Islington
(Completed for and on behalf of Mae)

Location: Ancoats, Manchester

Part of Will Alsop's New Islington masterplan, this development reprovides 18 new homes on the Cardroom Road Estate. Due to narrow plot depths, a new type of back to back semi-detached dwelling was developed which enabled each home to have it's own private courtyard and parking space. Homes were designed to be flexible and adaptable for different needs and achieved excellent space standards and wheelchair standards.
