Location: Finsbury Park, London

This 4 storey Victorian terrace in North London required modernising for a growing family. The design process resulted in a large rear extension providing a kitchen and dining space facing onto a new patio. Internal upgrades were made to the front reception room - creating a link to the kitchen; 1st floor bathroom - providing a new layout and storage; and basement - providing a new utility space.

A green roof was proposed to the large extension roof, which improved thermal performance, reduced water run off and replaced the greenery and biodiversity that was lost from the garden due to the works.  This also provided a visual amenity for the upper floors when looking down towards the garden.

The design also included bespoke elements such as the kitchen units, welsh dresser and central island which unified the kitchen space. Floor to ceiling book shelves were built in the rear reception room creating a reading space, toy storage and display space for the client's many Olivier Awards.
